CONCUSSIONS & MILD TRAUMATIC BRAIN INJURIES
Concussions and mild traumatic brain injuries --often referred to as mTBIs-- are blows or jolts to the cranium that affect the brain and may change the way you think. Concussions and mTBIs can result from a variety of injuries, from motor vehicle accidents, to sports injuries, falls, and a variety of other accidents. Recovery times have been shown to vary from individual to individual as a function of a variety of complex factors. Most people who sustain a concussion or mTBI are back to normal within weeks but others have long-term problems with varied domains of brain function. Only a thorough neuropsychological evaluation can fully assess the extent to which you have been affected by the concussion.
